Should I be worried about speaker wire with a lead warning?
Question : Should I be worried about speaker wire with a lead warning?
I bought 100 feet of GE 16 gauge speaker wire from a home improvement store but it comes w/ a warning about the product containing lead and that I should wash hands after touching it. Is this something I should worry about? I don’t see the warning label on other brands, and I wonder if all speaker wire has small amounts of lead.

lead is only poisonouse if it gets in to your blood stream, they just don’t want you ingesting it. (eating it, if you put like that)

the wire has no lead they tin the ends of the wires with sauder to make it easyer to connect and it does help sauder is tipicaly only 50%lead and still is much harder than lead itself so contamination is almost impossable but my wife would say wear gloves lol
i handle sauder every day and i can still tie my shoes most of the time lol

You really have nothing to worry about. This is more for the company to cover their backside.
You would have to expose yourself to VERY HIGH levels of lead to actually become sick.
If this is a concern, I would recommend gloves when using this wire.
And next time, go with Monster. Better signal transfer.
