Question : IN TEXAS, can you get a no insurance ticket dismissed if you get insurance the same day as the ticket?
I got a no insurance ticket today, didnt realize policy had expired. Can I get it dismissed if I get insurance the same day as the ticket was written out? quick answers greatly appreciated

In most states, no.
It can only be dismissed if you reinstated your insurance before getting the ticket.
I had the same experience. Believe me, you’ll never forget again. For something like 3 years straight I had to send in proof of insurance every month to the state to be able to keep my driver’s license(once I got it back). I had my license suspended for 3 weeks, because not only had my policy lapsed, it was because I was because I slid on the ice and hit someone.

For Texas, insurance has to be in force for one day to be considered effective. Even though my insurance was in force as of that day, the tax office still made me come back the next day to renew my registration. It would be the same for a no-insurance ticket. You’d have to show that the insurance was in force as of, at least, the preceding day to get it dismissed.

No, you can only get the ticket dismissed if you had coverage and just no good proof of it. I got a ticket for no proof of insurance when i was a teen, I told the officer I wasn’t sure if I was covered (family troubles and living with grandparent.) He told me that it would be dismissed if I could prove I had coverage at the time I got the ticket. (thank goodness paw paw had me covered) I was lucky i wasn’t arrested, the cop knew me from around town but I didn’t have my lisence on me either. BTW, even if you show proof of you liscence later, you pay a $ 10.00 fee.

It would be up to the Judge. A possible deciding factor would be how long your insurance was expired. Technically, you’re guilty. Getting insurance after the citation would be considered after the fact.
