Question : I just bought a car and now I wish I hadn’t!!!?
Im a freshman in college that needed a car to get from home to school.
My nana added one thousand dollars to the money i already had saved up.
I bought a 96 honda ccord and I hate it.
I regret buying it with no warranty
what can i do to return the car??
They claimed that the car worked perfectly and that I could take and make
a trip to california and back to georgia.
although, they neglected to tell me that motor oil is leaking
and that the transmission jumps a little. (so far thats all that i have to worry about)
just about an hour ago, a few seconds after i turned the car on, it just shut down. on its own.
im worried. what should i do about this car??? help?

cant do anything but try and sell it unless they gave you a dealership warrenty of a couple thousand miles or something

First off buy American next time. Now you see why we always say that.
I wish I had good news for you but the dealer has in a bad spot legally. He is protected by the “As is” law. If you have a witness to what he said then you MIGHT have legal recourse but not likely. Try to see if he will let you trade it for another car, most dealers will say no BUT I have known some that did it to keep the customer from telling the whole town about the bad deal. If he refuses DO tell him that you are going to tell the entire school body about what a scam operation he is running.
Do yourself a favor and listen when we say not to buy that Japanese crap.

No one can offer worthwhile opinions about w/o knowing your states laws, and what your paper work from seller says, including the title.
Some states have implied warranties, so you may automatically have one even tho there’s no paper work on it.
Some states dont allow as is deals.
If the title is “bad,” that is Salvage/Rebuilt, Theft Recovery, Lemon/Warranty Return, etc, etc, and the seller dint dint tell you, the deal could be off.
Deal could be off if seller did anything fraudulent. As is contracts dont immunize fraud.
Call your state atty gen’s fraud division, & state dept of consumer protect, & similar county offices. Have all paper work & dates handy. Ask them about small claims court. It’s VERY useful.
Call about 10 lawyers from the Yellow PP who practice in this area. Have all paper work handy.
Next to being informed, most important thing is to be a relentless thorn in the side of the managers there. Target the managers, their time is more valuable. At some point they’l realize it’s best for them to satisfy you so you’l stop disrupting their work.
I did that to Honda and they paid me $ 8,200. for a botched insurance job on body/paint on a new/repo Accord. No court, no lawyers needed.

Unfortunately, you have no right to return the car. It’s a 15 year old car, you can’t expect it to be perfect. When you buy a used car, the seller isn’t going to tell you it leaks oil or that the transmission is screwy. They are going to tell you it’s a wonderful car. It’s up to the buyer to see if it leaks oil or if it has transmission issues. It’s called “buyer beware”, and it’s how used cars are sold.
