Removable Storage? What’s the difference between backing up and moving? ?
Question : Removable Storage? What’s the difference between backing up and moving? ?
What’s the difference between backing up files with removable storage and moving files with removable storage?
And does anyone know how to remove a memory stick safely?
Thanks
And also can anyone clearly explain how to do these. I know how to right click on it and go down to ‘Send To’ (I think that’s right anyway), but from here, how do you back it up and move it?
moving storage

Backing up means making a copy of the files – so the original files stay where they are (like on your hard drive).
Moving the files is just that – they are moved from your hard drive to the external drive, so there is only 1 copy.
To remove a memory stick safely (in Windows) you will need to look for the little “Safely Remove Hardware” icon down by the system clock. Left-click on it, then you can choose which device you want to remove.
Backing up can save your system setting. But just like moving files it is used to store information in a removable drive in case something happens to a hard drive.
As for removing the memeory stick there should be an icon somewhere on the bottom right with an arrow on it. When you right click it should say savely remove hardware.
Also you could go to my computer and right click on the removeable harddrive’s letter drive and select remove.
