Samuels led many battles in the fight against prostate cancer. As founding president of the National Coalition for prostate cancer, he lobbied Congress repeatedly to increase research funding for prostate cancer and helped to identify the state of Florida, as a matter of public policy, prostate cancer, serious illness at the state level to be addressed. In 2004 he was recognized by the Ministry of Health unsung hero with Florida? S Price . Â The State Department of Health is a credit to his leadership and contributions to the stakeholders throughout the state with the approval of the education of the Florida Prostate Cancer concerned Act. Samuels helped obtain a grant of one million DOD on joint training of prostate cancer risk and Research Institute at FAMU Moffitt Cancer Center building.
