Land Securities, the largest commercial real estate company in the United Kingdom, owns and currently manages over 29 million m2 of commercial space, offices London department stores and shopping malls and out of town retail parks.

Camfil

were asked by Neil Pennell Engineering Director of Land Securities, to evaluate the effect of the installation of air filters in the low energy air conditioning of buildings in the portfolio of London. The project was on the ground by Alexander Valentin, Portfolio Manager of Land Securities, to a suitable site in New Street Square

London has identified made it.

In July 2009, engineers with Camfil Inviron FM on the grounds of the New Street Square, led a detailed assessment of air filters in air conditioning systems. This evaluation included the collection of information on the performance of standard air filter used at the time, and compares it with an alternative choice of low energy air filter Camfil.

preliminary study has identified the following savings:

Air Filter 15% discount

efforts to reduce Filter-64% change

energy to move air through filters 16% discount

tonnes of CO2 emissions by 16%

These savings have been adjust Camfil low energy air filters in the filter holding frame existing within the normal regime are available. No additional investment was needed and new filters were installed in September 2009.

In this implementation, the air filter regularly as part of an established preventive maintenance (PPM) scheme replaced. In this project, Camfil study showed that reducing the use of low energy air filters not only energy consumption but also doubles the life of the filter. Therefore, the annual cost of the air filter reduces with a reduction in labor costs and waste.

In particular, since the low energy air filters are better trained, with the air being delivered to buildings is now much cleaner (four times the amount of particles in the air). This project was estimated to be savings in the portfolio only city of London £ 250k and 650 tonnes of CO2 implemented next year.
