Question : My compressor broke on my AC and it is covered under my home warranty.?
Should I go ahead and upgrade to a new condenser at a cost of $ 600.00. The current condenser was installed in 1993.
Please do not answer this if you have no idea about heating/cooling issues.

For $ 600 an upgrade would be a worthwhile investment. The SEER rating would be a big improvement, and you should notice a difference in your electric bills as a result. The savings on your electrical will pay back that expenditure in a very reasonable amount of time.

Did you just buy the house? That is usually the only way you would have a home warranty. You will have to check your policy.
If it is over 15 years old, you would be better off replacing it. Your energy costs will definately show improvement. - Comment Feed for this Post
HVAC Tech.: The most warranty you could have had would be 10 years. As even that would have run out, The up-grade is a very good price, solves your problem, and gives you a new warranty. Take The deal.
