My cousin owns a condo and doesn’t want to hire a management company, but she’s out for a few weeks for emergency so Im helping her screen potential tenants. Her condo has some potential renters, do I need some sort of license to screen them myself ? or just authorization ?

Most states require a property manager to be a licensed real estate broker, while some states require a real estate sales license.
In the case you outline you might simply need a power of attorney from your cousin giving you the authority to screen potential renters and sign a rental agreement or lease, since this is a one time situation.
You are not making this a career in helping others and setting up an office or even working out of your home advertising for clients.
I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

Any legitimate landlord can contract with a tenant screening service to do this. Your cousin would be considered a landlord, you probably will not.
