What are the pros and cons from moving from Los Angeles to New York?
Question : What are the pros and cons from moving from Los Angeles to New York?
I am pretty bored in Los Angeles. Yes, it has nice weather, other then that it’s too spread-out and suburban. Thinking about moving to Brooklyn. Any thoughts?

I can’t stand Los Angeles, the only good thing I can say about that city is that the weather is nice. But then again, nice weather all the time gets kind of boring too.
I don’t know what to tell you really, I absolutely love New York, and I’m sure you would too
I’ll take you for a drink when you get here.
Well, they say that the big difference between NY and LA is that, in LA they say, ‘Have a nice day,’ and they mean, ‘F- you,’ and in NY they say, ‘F- you,’ and they mean, ‘Have a nice day!’”
Seriously, though, the biggest immediate difference will be giving up your car. Seriously, most NYers don’t own cars and never drive anywhere, so that will be a big culture shock, and then, of course, it gets COOOOOLD here, like near-0 degrees sometimes, and the snow turns into ankle-deep dirty grey slush waiting for you at every corner.
Then, of course, there’s the fact that not only is New York City the MOST EXPENSIVE CITY IN THE ENTIRE USA (see link, below), but recent statistics show that the unemployment levels here are the highest in the nation, too (see 2nd link, below), so, unless you have a job and an apartment all lined up before you leave LA, I really wouldn’t recommend just showing up here one day because you’re bored and you’re in a mood, OK?
Good luck!!
