Question : Can I deduct the property taxes and mortgage interest when I file my taxes in MD?
I use Turbo Tax to file my taxes and I receive my interest statements from my bank for filing — my bank also handles paying my insurance and property taxes — In addition to deducting my mortgage insurance on my filing, can I also deduct the property taxes that were paid that year? and if so, where on my return to do I specify this deduction?

You can use mortgage interest and property tax as a deduction for your Federal Income Tax. Assuming that you have enough deductions to itemize, you would list these on Schedule A.

However, you cannot use these deductions for your MD state income tax filing.
