Question : Relocating from Virginia to Sacramento area – Most affordable way??
I called PODs (we’ve used them before for a shorter move and liked them) They quoted us over $ 9,000 for two pods enough for our entire house. That doesn’t include our cars expenses?!?!? Unfortunately the new job isn’t paying for relocation… :( Are Movers or a Uhaul much more? Any recommendations on a reliable but affordable company? Yeah right, huh? Thank You!!

I’m thinking that it would be quite a bit cheaper to do it yourself by renting a truck (Uhaul, Budget, etc.). I know when we rented a truck (Budget) for 2 days we paid approx. $ 110/day for the largest truck they had (we printed off a coupon from online). My cousin just recently moved to Sacramento (from San Diego) and paid $ 200 for a large truck and then another $ 100 for a trailer to tow the car. They also had the truck for 2 days. You’re obviously going to need it for longer, but I can’t image it costing anything close to $ 9000.
If you don’t want to do it yourself, your best bet is to call around and ask if they are having any promotional deals.
Good luck!
