From the supplier: Prudential has decided to reserve property and casualty insurance writing authority for the 500 of its 1,600 multiline agents in New Jersey that write the highest quality and the largest volume of life insurance. Although the decision will not limit any of the agents from writing annuity, mutual fund, or life insurance, the 1,100 affected insurers are unhappy about the restrictions and some sources predicted an agent exodus to other insurers. The decision will go into effect June 1, 1994.
