Question : landlord doing an inspection and says we can not be home.?..?
Got a 48 hr notice today that the management is going to do a routine pest prevention inspection. Old bldg, but I have never seen bugs. Says that we the tenants and our animals have to be out of the building for four hours. My roommate and I do not feel comfortable with them coming in our apartment without us here. I live in Oregon in Multnomah County. Are they aloud to do that?
It is an inspection. They have not said anything about spraying. Its checking to see if they need to spray. Actually I looked at the paper and it said pets need to be placed in cages. But I can not be home? I do not understand.

I believe they are and you wouldn’t want to be there with your pets if they are spraying for bugs?

Yeah, they probably are allowed to do it or else they wouldn’t be doing it. Since it’s about bugs they should ask you to leave because they will be using pesticides which can be harmful to humans. Just be sure to get anything small and valuable you are afraid of losing out of the apartment when you leave.
