I have moved my business and retail products and need to write a letter of relocation.?

Use a combination of media to make sure that your vendors and clientele all have you up to date in their files:

1. When sending to a company, be sure you include an individual notice to each person you deal, or have dealt with. Each will have their own contact files to be updated and you cannot rely on the information to be cross checked within a company. Remember to include separate notices to the accounting departments, too.

2. In general, multiple announcements are helpful. At least one announcing the upcoming relocation date and location, and one following up to remind them of your new address.

3. You can find templates online (see link to letter template below) that you can download free and customize.

4. Postcards are relatively inexpensive to create and mail and, done right, can be great advertising.

5. Public announcements in local newspapers (at both old and new locations) as well as on-line communities and your own website(s). Remember to include the dates, location, and, if applicable, the reason. Tell them of how positively this move will be better for them.

6. Remember to find ALL the on-line directories your company are listed on. Many you may know about, some you might not. Do an on-line search to see where you are listed and give them the updates.

7. And I KNOW you know this, but always worth mentioning: update the address with the Post Office.
