Question : Does anyone know if State Farm Insurance will soon stop issuing homeowners’ policies in Southern NY State ?

I don’t know, but it certainly a possibility. Allstate has non-renewed 4% of it’s homeowners downstate and has stopped writing new business in the last two years. Nationwide is also apparently leaving the NY market. Seems some of the “big guys” that got hurt with the Katrina mess are tightening their belts and moving on…

Seems from some of your other questions that you are considering a job with State Farm. Have you considered trying to find a job with an independent broker?
