Question : how do i get rid of a spyware that has taken over my home page and directs me to a search page?
by running an adware away scan (scan only), i got a report of 7 objects in categories such as system restriction, IE UrlSearchHook,IE Url BHO & Toolbar, and Notify Dlls. i’m looking for some free software to remove this infection. the webpage http://nsl-school.org is my home page now(it used to be yahoo.com). i contracted this infection by accidentally clicking on a link that i received through yahoo messenger. this infection in its initial stages used to send out harmful links to all my contacts on yahoo messenger. ppppppppplllllllls HELP!

I would download Adware, Spybot, an antivirus (AVG, Avast, or Clamwin), and the program CCleaner (all these are FREE). Once you download and install all those, disconnect your computer from the internet and run them each, two programs at a time. Then restart and run them again. That should get rid of your problems for sure.

Hi. You can manually reset the home page in IE but it sounds like it would redirect you anyway. Try “WindowsCare” http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html .
