Fort Campbell families who have recently seen their troops for the third and fourth time in service, were also treated to a performance of multi-platinum national anthem, award-winning country music star Trace Adkins and a personalized Mickey Mouse. Fort Campbell TN is on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee, between the towns of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Clarksville.


“I consider it an opportunity to say thank you and we appreciate what these soldiers do for us, â? “Adkins said of his participation in the event. Â? Their families deserve to be on these things, and I’m just happy to be part of it.”

At the event, Fort Campbell resident and military spouse Jamie Wilson said. “It really shows the community supports us really understands us and what we plan so it was really nice to come and see the appreciation of the community.”

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean welcomed over 8,000 participants and provided a 101st Airborne Division flag by Ann Campbell, wife of Major General John F. Campbell, commanding general of Combined Joint Task Force 101, and Sylvia Phipps, Mrs Brigadier General Warren Phipps, deputy commander of support, while a special opening ceremony.

Under the free service had to show about 172 Gold Star family members, guests of honor at a reception after the performance of Little Caesars and Anna Caryl Guffey Hopkinsville with some of the intended stars. These families have lost loved ones in support of combat operations worldwide.
