I am trying to get a sofa moved from Frisco, Texas to Chicago Il. have tried moving companies. No luck?

Question : I am trying to get a sofa moved from Frisco, Texas to Chicago Il. have tried moving companies. No luck?
most companies need you to have more than one item. the cost is also high for just the sofa with the few companies that may consider it. Would appreciate suggestions other than me driving down to pick it up/ Winter weather is preventing that idea.

My guess is that it may be more cost effective to sell the couch, and buy a new one in Chicago. The cost of moving a sofa would probably far exceed that of just buying a new one. Just my opinion.

It’s going to cost you too much to have it moved no matter who you hire.Just sell it & use the money for another one.You probably don’t need the headache!

Try calling a “freight service”… They deal with smaller loads…

I live in Ft. Worth, I have a 3/4 ton cargo van and 3 day weekends every week. How much you willing to pay? My van takes about $ 80.00 to fill up, and around 325 miles to the tank. Do the math and make me an offer, will also need motel money.

see if you can get it done with what the trucking compnay will refer to as a back-haul…in other words you need to find a trucker coming from Chicago with a load to Frisco who will be returning empty or less than full…it used to happen alot and was much cheaper than the usual way…good luck

Put a wanted ad in the paper. In the town where your couch is. More then likely there is a smaller company that could do it. But, you should definetly check the people out before you agree to anything.
