It’s not necessarily a “scam,” but I would stay away from things like this. They are small companies that are just a bunch of people together who try to “help people save their homes”, probably charge fees to negotiate with their lenders or whatever.

They do not have a good reputation in my opinion…

Can I reduce the Contents coverage on my Homeowners Policy?

3

Question : Can I reduce the Contents coverage on my Homeowners Policy?
I am going to do an inventory of my personal contents in my house to make sure I have adequate coverage on my homeowners Policy. If it turns out the coverage is too high can I get it reduced so I am not paying for coverage I don’t need? My company, Safeco, uses a fixed rate of 75% of the building value for the contents. It seems excessive.

how soon can i refinance a house i just bought at fair market value?

Question : how soon can i refinance a house i just bought at fair market value?
I can find some great deals out there but it seems that no matter how far below fair market value i purchase a house the banks and mortgage brokers are only going to allow me to refinance based on what i paid for it.

Fighting the urge to rant about how rediculous underwriting standards have become, my question is: How soon will i be able to refinance based on fair market value?

24 February Wall Street Journal published an article by Scott McCartney, entitled “Why Resist Hotels defibrillators seen.” California Hotel Capo agreements with a word, the situation is supposedly taken from the hotel, that risk as a result of an automated external defibrillator (AED / defibrillator) outweigh the benefits of suing in local savings for the public there.

Without doubt the number of civil lawsuits in recent years and continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, even explosive. Companies are generally reluctant to voluntary affirmative action even for the public good, which they could subject to significant costs to defend their good deeds, and sometimes obliged to pay compensation.

In the industry there was “No good deed goes unpunished.” It’s a pretty bad shape is, according to the WSJ article, a hotel must be feared that by spending just as much, 800 for a rescue automated external defibrillator (AED), they run the risk of pursuing with too little about the local DEA . No one is OK, but could you ask for water heating.

But how have the proven benefits Rescue quickly access AEDs were widely recognized, laws mandating their installation has become more common. AEDs are now required by federal law from commercial aircraft and cruise ships. A growing number of “states require AEDs in health clubs and gyms, dental offices, schools, sports events and public access facilities to collect in which a large number of people, such as airports and train stations Transit. Congress States United States and passed the California Legislature resolutions for the implementation of an AED program in all schools, kindergarten to university. A growing number of school districts in California, where AEDs are not yet mandatory, installed voluntarily in schools and public buildings. They are in most to present major airports. San Diego, California, the third largest city has a regulation adopted in December 2008 requiring AEDs in the construction of nearly every building with space cost of 200 or more. These include hotels, offices, shops, factories, warehouses and schools.

As the number of AEDs and people living increases saved by their presence, force of the argument that the absence of an AED in a public venue (like a hotel) under the standard of reasonable care in the community falls and makes the are owners or operators of negligence litigation.

On the other hand, positive “do the right thing” public and community relations benefits, and it is reasonable that someone who is in a DEA expect accommodation of public access to a hotel, to keep it true, as you would say a fire extinguisher or a smoke alarm.

But in the case of sudden cardiac death is the difference between life and death in most cases been found before the ambulance comes with the fireman on board. Since the chances of survival as high as 70% if a defibrillator within 5 minutes of an attack and about 5% within the deadline will run 10 minutes, the odds strongly suggest defibrillation immediately whether a person inexperienced or not.

Race relations and law enforcement in the United States of America

January 2009

Summary > / p

wave of fatal shootings by police in the process led to the arrest of suspects, many commentators suggest to an underlying racist attitude of police officers. In fact, he is currently racial attitudes in law enforcement when it comes to minorities such as blacks and Latinos. There are several aspects of this race talk. First, it is the means of white against black victims scenario scenario versus black officers’ white victim, black (Perucha & Plant, 2006) officer victim scenario versus black and black on a white policeman victim scenario. It was proposed, in which the theory of the perception of danger that the police are more likely to use deadly force in areas or situations where they encounter acts of God or see their jobs as particularly dangerous (Best & Quigley, 2003). n The role of racial feelings in the fatal shooting of the police is not clear that there are competing theories that explain death by police firing. It is the view of the perceived risk that the police has shootings on the threat posed by the suspects tried to look fear. Nevertheless, a study has shown that prejudice by the violence in certain breeds an important role, such as police, play to respond to threats by the suspect (Alpert, 2007). Not all theories share the feelings of minorities in the attitude of the police to arrest black suspects. There are those who support law enforcement, arguing that minorities should be profiled as criminals or potential criminals because they commit more crimes. Personal profiles and investigative stop was obtained as a rational response to the problem of drugs and crime in some law enforcement officers of the law, despite the obvious ecological fallacy to individuals on group behavior (Alpert, 2007). The big question is how far the effects of race compared to law enforcement authorities in their dealings with suspects in black, as white suspects are treated

The author argues that race is a factor in the attitude of the police to arrest black suspects. But it is only relevant in so far as blacks associated with more aggression and violence than other ethnic groups. This is the result of the association more than the race itself, that more aggressive strategies of the police were in the neighborhood typically black.

Introduction

There is a growing concern that the police be aggressive in their responses to minorities in comparison to White suspects (Perucha & Plant). These reactions can be influenced by stereotypical expectations. For example, it is possible that the stereotype that black men are more likely to be violent and hostile can be created expectations that blacks are particularly black men, are more likely than violent offenders. This can be discussed at a series of deadly shootings police in this document

have led culture appears to affect human relationships in society. If there is racial prejudice in a society where the police, who dominated the race in oppressive as the white race in terms of the oppressed race (black) is not free from such prejudice. Therefore, a corrupt society would produce a corrupt police force, but can paint a different picture. The definition of culture by Linton (1945) supports the argument that the police can not be active is as good as the company. For him, the culture of the society the lifestyles of its members, collecting ideas and habits they learn, share and transmit from generation to generation. There is another aspect of the cultural, racial discrimination belong in policing, cultural sensitivity on the part of the police. Given the multi-ethnic constitution of most companies in the United States of America today, it is very possible that the police may be among a people to find their culture, he knows almost nothing. It is therefore imperative that police officers in cultural diversity and sensitivity training from time to time. In this context, violence is aggression? always be strong defensively and can be annoying to a law enforcement officer. But it is enough to cause fear with strength, that the fatal shooting a suspect
/> The paper reviews some of the incidents police fire fatal to an appropriate model and the role of race in the actions of police officers in shootings to identify. The crux of the matter seems to be attributing the primacy of race as a determinant of police responses or reactions to perceived risk by race as a variable in the simultaneous reactions of the police. Among other things, review the paper of the Amadou Diallo case in New York, Kathryn Jones and Jason Gomez in Atlanta to Denver.

Amadou Diallo

Amadou Diallo, an unarmed African immigrant with no criminal record, was 22, when he was killed 5 February 1999, four police officers in New York The officers -. Kenneth Boss, Sean Carroll, Edward McMellon and Richard Murphy – admitted firing 41 shots at night, but said they thought Mr. Diallo had a gun Mr. Diallo, who came to America more than two years ago from Guinea and worked as street vendors. in Manhattan, was hit by 19 bullets while before the door of his apartment building in the Bronx. The case sparked mass protests in the city, and has become a flash point of friction between the minority leader, and increased administration of Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani. The four officers who were in civilian clothes said they approached Mr. Diallo because he fit the description of a man wanted in a case of thinking rape. They claimed that when he pulled out his wallet ID card, she took a gun.

Kathryn Johnston

members

Georgia a narcotics investigation team shot 92 years Kathryn Johnston during a drug raid in his home in Atlanta on 21 November 2006.

search warrant stating crack was sold in her apartment, officers, enabled through the burglar bars protecting the home of Johnston and broke through her door without identifying themselves cut.

Johnston, who lived alone, apparently mistook the officers for intruders and in civil, as the prosecutor tried to officials fired a shot through the door and found nothing. Police responded by firing 39 shots, apparently, killing and wounding three of his own Johnston. Jason Gomez 19 December, Denver police officer Timothy Campbell in the middle of the road in an area west distance of Denver, his gun aimed at a man. The officer was driving north, Irving Street, when he adopted in 1997 a Saturn seemed suspicious. When Campbell turned around, the Saturn quickly accelerated into a side street and pulled into a driveway. Since the agent has grown, a man – he seemed in his thirties, is Hispanic with a light jacket in size -. jumped from the car and ran Campbell followed him on foot through backyards and fences. The man reached the 3200 block of West Ada Place, where he slid on a patch of ice. He got up and went into the street, falling twice. Campbell had now closed the gap, and when the man got up again, stood apart the two each other at least ten meters Campbell had his gun drawn service .. a .45-caliber Glock semi-automatic The man reached into his pocket, put his hand behind his back, then started moving his hand forward. Campbell saw the reflection of something metallic. He fired two shots, paused, then fired four more. The man fell on a pile of dirty snow.

The place of race in law enforcement

For

Inexplicably, or strange coincidence, they are blacks and Hispanics who are still committing certain crimes ( Ruth & Reitz, 2003, p. 32). This is not to suggest that it has no merit in the use of disproportionate prosecution of crimes of certain races and ethnic groups. The fact is that racial and ethnic groups tend to have an unusual criminal propensity. Some have argued that, as society is structured economically places races and ethnic groups at a disadvantage. This can be a valid argument. It is also true that African-Americans have a greater propensity for crime than any other group in the United States of America. At this stage there is no legal justification for the way his crime and the reasons are obvious. Many African-Americans, that survival is the only reason to engage in crime can be. For the same reason, others follow a legitimate business to survive. It is not surprising that the dropout rate is higher in African Americans. It follows that if the base is low, the superstructure is to follow as the need. There are many factors that affect the criminal tendencies of African-Americans. For example, the presence of several liquor stores in the black population is generally considered voluntary, as it facilitates violent behavior and perception of increasing cases of aggravated assault and homicide.

Winter (1980) argues, cited other authors, and I think rightly, that today the firing of the police, the biggest trigger racial violence in the United States of America. Advocacy for the content of race in police shootings, the author, that studies have shown that the ratio of black victims of the victims of police firing white as high as 30 per-1 in Milwaukee and Chicago has the highest rate of civilians killed the ratio 6 to 1 may be the opinion of the author, the solution to change the attitude of the police themselves. Some officers believe that their control of deadly force to it’s handcuffs. The problem with this thinking is that they seem to do is power without control in the treatment of blacks against whites. What is needed most is a new orientation and training as a tolerance for diversity, in the hope that the police use deadly force less often to black Apart

from the case of Kathryn Johnston, the other shooting victims Deadly Police in this document have been disarmed and, curiously, the ethnic minorities. The cases and other causes as they have added to negative feelings from ethnic minorities, namely blacks and Latinos. It was the attitude of the police that hate blacks. The feeling is based on a comprehensive history of large and small events that African-Americans face basic attitudes and actions of the police. According to this school of thought (Brunson, 2007), blacks are not only from their own experience to draw, but also by a consistent pattern of events they face in their communities. This perception that the police do not like black people are not used to aggressive strategies policing by the police in disadvantaged African-American neighborhoods helped (the hood, ghetto, etc..) Experiments to develop the potential for indirect or validate individual interpretations of personal earn experience and a thorough review in the light of research on attitudes towards African-Americans to the police to find, there is the assertion that the citizen is more common in African-Americans distrust than whites. Brunson examined in-depth interviews of 40 African-American adolescents residing in a deprived urban area in St. Louis to better understand their experiences with the police. One of the main objectives of the study was to develop a “detailed understanding” of how these men, African American youth their interactions interpret with the police, and to develop the interactions between family members, friends and neighbors and to assess how these experiences shape their perceptions of police. The results suggest that abuse either directly or indirectly by the police led to negative evaluations by the participants. Many of the mistrust stems from the media of police handling of the Afro-American Affairs. Cases reported emphasizing the sensational content of racial dynamics that led to the shootout as the perceived threat and danger, the opposite of police officers involved. The case of Kathryn Johnston, the stroke 92 years old woman in Atlanta by the police. She had been shot in the ceiling, before the police opened fire. This is not an attempt to defend the actions of the police. But if a shot, we can reasonably say that we do not feel in danger in order to provoke some kind of reaction to fire two goals in mind: self-defense and arrest of the accused, armed and dangerous? Given the context, the case should have been drug seizure, the officers have to go their guard down? I think not. There is a reason for the thesis that some neighborhoods are more dangerous than others. If a district well known for its tendency to crime, violence and drug trafficking, policing strategies may yet, but be aggressive. The various cases discussed above has only served to increase distrust among citizens of the police among blacks in communities where the deaths. Brunson (2007) recommended that consideration of the cumulative properties of the interactions between the police-citizen to understand the nature of conflicts between ethnic minorities and the police should be given.

Brunson view is supported by a subsequent article entitled Either they do not know or they do not care: black men and negative experiences with police Stewart (2007). He also identified the race as one of the most significant predictors of perceptions and attitudes towards the police and may be a function of neighborhood context. Because of social restrictions, real or imagined, many city residents feel structurally from official institutions, they may still lack sufficient capital and / or policies, engage in law enforcement to solve the various problems in their neighborhood. Often the police may view these structurally depressed neighborhoods as crime-prone environmental entities.

Some cases of police shootings are usually not acceptable. While people are willing to accept a single officer may be fatal shooting based on his decision to use lethal force regretted by several agents to use involved in the shooting. This proposal is supported by the outcry that followed the shooting of a woman of 92 years (Kathryn Johnston) in Atlanta for more than four officers, under the guise of the conviction that the woman a drug dealer has been validated. What was worse was later discovered that an attempt, the events that led to the shooting of the black woman to hide. Curiously, there was another victim of racist police contaminated. The position of the police officers are needed to defend against perceived dangers of the suspects and that any attempt to use deadly force control is a way to get him handcuffed and make them helpless. For the citizens, especially the black population, the use of deadly force not justified in most cases and is considered excessive in most cases. In the article, stating, two studies were conducted to investigate the perception of the use of police misuse of deadly force. The first study found that many officers has decreased and increased the number of fires, perceptions of abuse of power have been increased. Number of rounds per officer significantly affect the perception of abuse of power. The second study showed a significant interaction between the number of officers, the number of shots, and social dominance orientation. This personality variable was a particularly strong predictor of abuse of force in situations where the greatest number of shots fired per officer. This finding is consistent with the racial element inherent in the massacre by the police. One way the validity tests, it was the race feeling examine the black rate of fatal shootings by police officers in and see who were slaughtered in terms of racial composition (Perkins & Bourgeois, 2006).

> The issue of police shootings has a different dimension to the idea that some races will hit the target of deadly attacks. Unfortunately it seems that some research on racial overtones in the shooting to confirm after Tennenbaum (1994). Before the Garner case, the shooting of the police is governed by one of four legal justifications for the shooting of a suspect. They are all-Felony Rule, defending the rule of life, the Model Penal Code, the rule forced felony. Article excuse a crime by a police officer, a suspect fled away after committing a crime, shot. The problem with almost all of them has four rules, they called for a decision by the supplier before the suspect was in court one day. In the case of Garner Garner brought a lawsuit against the police and the police for taking his son to death while the scene of a burglary. The suspect was unarmed. The court ruled that the shooting can not be used except to prevent the escape and the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect is a significant risk of death or serious bodily injury shall appoint the staff or others.

On the side of the police is to be noted that confusion over the terminology in the discussions about race. Minorities may be contextual. Blacks may be minorities in the United States of America as a whole. But not the case in some communities, the predominantly black. For example, in most cities of Atlanta, Georgia, it is wrong to speak of blacks and the minority, because they are the majority. The fact of the racial composition of the community is important because of claims of racial profiling. In three out of four are black, it follows that the blacks form the majority of persons arrested by the police in this community. It is quite possible, for example, have drawn all the people about being black in a routine police check, because not too many whites in the community. It would be very active and also for the police in aggressive tactics of the police, when people are possible in the black community a great criminal tendencies. Imposing a fact. Blacks are more violent than other breeds. In addition, the adequacy of the allegation of racial discrimination in which black agents is to be understood? It must be said that the association with aggression and violence by the people, and not the police. The perception of black people as violent and aggressive seems the same with black police officers that she was with white police officers.

It seems

statistics have the charge of bias in the procedures for applying the law to blacks. Under the Federal Privacy Act Household Survey, the current users of illicit drugs are white. There were an estimated 9.9 million whites (72 percent of all users), 2.0 million blacks (15 percent), and 1.4 million Hispanics (10 percent) , the current users of illicit drugs in 1998. “And yet, were arrested blacks 36.8% of those for drug offenses, more than 42% this man in the prisons of the federal drug offenses. Afro-Americans make up almost 58% in state prisons for drug crimes, account Hispanics 20.7%: cites (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, National Household Survey on Drug Abuse Summary Report 1998, the race of law enforcement and criminal justice, 2008). The picture of the reading of these statistics is painted, that people commit crimes more whites than blacks, but there are more black people for the crimes caught. It’s either that white criminals know too smart for the police officers or the police, who the criminals among Caucasians, but they choose not to enter. It is doubtful that this is the case.

In an interview with the writer with the Deputy Commissioner of Police in DeKalb, Kenny Harrell was held on 20.11.2008, has completed the acquisition of racial profiling were incorrect. Deputy chief refutes the assertion of racial profiling. His argument was that in a predominantly black-populated region such as DeKalb, it is expected that most of the arrested suspects would reflect the ethnic composition of the population. It would not agree that blacks have a greater propensity for crime than whites. It’s the same argument that blacks commit crimes settled in a black community. The same is true for Latino populated areas. This argument seems to be stretched if to dispel racist content in the spate of fatal shootings police. It seems that every case of fatal shootings by the police should be examined on a case by case basis. Therefore, the only theory that would apply generally to all cases of “perceived threat” theory, (Best & Quigley, 2003) would. According to this theory, react the police to present risk level that “they are, it seems a coincidence that ethnic minorities more involved in fatal shootings by police. It is certainly a question, the study deserves as the trend is worrying are . There is much truth in the suggestion by Stewart (2007) that there is a further examine the impact of the presence of minorities in various police to have the perception of minority repression. If minorities in police see their parents and friends who are aggressive and violent than others, be the answer to change perceptions is not shining. The reason is that even in areas that are majority black population and the two in the composition of the police, is racial profiling (right) is missing and the feeling of injustice and police brutality remains strong.

It is necessary for African Americans have a new direction, one that focuses on the industry rather than links, and the one who symbolizes the hard work and does not attempt to harvest where they do not sow: developing a comprehensive global as opposed to hand syndrome, and a genuine effort to give up to get the ghetto life

Question : New Laptop Fan Always on and noisy! Help Please.?
Okay about a month ago I bought a new HP Pavilion DV41275mx. Very nice laptop i get around 80-135 FPS in any game or program. But the laptop fan is usually on. Even when i am not running anything. I can turn on my laptop and leave to go make something to eat, (Left on the table and elevated because the battery it came with is a 6 hr battery so it sticks out below the laptop) and when i come back i find the fan on high and very noisy and the only programs on are my Antivirus, and the usual programs for windows vista. Also if this is relevant, sometimes when i turn off my laptop i try to turn it back on but it turns on and then off again so i have to take out the battery and unplug it and then it is fine again. Should i take it into best buy because i have a 3 year full warranty or is there a way to fix this at home.
