How low should I negotiate from the sales price & appraisal?
Question : How low should I negotiate from the sales price & appraisal?
My fiance and I are looking to buy a 1 Story, 2015 Square Ft. house in Houston, Texas. The builder is Mint Homes and the sale price is $ 149,900. I checked the appraisal website (HCAD) and the appraised value is $ 141,820. The house is an inventory house and is new. It is It has an electrical pole on the side of the house. There are very few upgrades in the house. My question, how low can I negotiate this house for knowing all of this? I was thinking $ 130,000 to $ 135,000. Is that feasible?

Start off as low as you want…the worse thing that could happen is that they say no! You’ll negotiate back and forth…you’ll end up paying less than what they want.
That web site may or may not be accurate but it doesn’t hurt to use it. Start were ever you like, just remember they do not have to respond. Put a time deadline on your offer. If they haven’t responded when the time has passed you offer is no good and you can move on or put in another offer. If is important to put the time deadline on the offer. Don’t worry about offending the seller, just don’t get upset if they reject or don’t counter.
