I’ve built an AlienWare computer with those specs, would it be suitable for gaming? I am mainly looking to play StarWars the Old Republic when it releases.
Stop trying to say build your own PC it would be cheaper and etc..
I am only a Junior and not that good with computers tho I am a gamer… I can’t build my own, I’m not 30, and I don’t have the knowledge to do so.

Alienware was made specifically for gaming.
Star Wars the Old Republic has not been released yet. But they want to make it run well on most computers. This configuration should game well but you may not be able to run things at the highest detail and at the highest resolutions. But it definitely will be able to run them.
Star Wars the Old Republic will probably follow the WOW model, so it shouldn’t be as taxing as say Crysis 2.
The Core i5 650 is a solid processor based on Intel’s latest and greatest 32nm technology. It has Turbo Boost to give you a burst of speed when you need it and Hyper-Threading technology so it will be good at multi-tasking(it can handle up to 4 threads at once).
3GB of RAM is the minimum but I might try to get 4GB. MMORPGs do use memory, especially in major gathering places(Dalaran in WOW) and if you run out you will lag. Looking at the Alienware website that is only a 50$ upgrade. For $ 100 more you can get 6GB. Something to consider.
You could also upgrade the CPU and Video card if you want more headroom for the future but that also increases the price a few hundred dollars.
Overall it is a competent gaming rig and if it fits your budget, it will work out fine:)
