Question : Monster Neighbors?
We moved to FL 4 years ago. We were not even in our house a day and the neighbor invited herself over to see our house. She went through all our cupboards! Never talk to or invite them over again. If they hate it here so much why don’t they stay in Chicago. Recently we got a puppy and all they do is complain at the top of their lungs so that the whole neighborhood can hear. They are only here for 4 months a year and have the worst manners of any older person I know. It’s a retirement community that allows 2 dogs per household. There are dogs at every other house, but they choose to single us out. I think its because I’m younger that my husband by 18 yrs, We live all year round. We surveyed our property and they complained about that. They are making my life hell. Can’t talk to them. She always wants her way and is overbearing and super controlling. What to do? We love our house and are NOT going to move. Please help on how to handle neighbors with horrible manners
Also cannot go to pool or play golf because she gossips to other people about us and points right at us, while we try to ignore it

The first thing I would suggest is to politely go up to your neighbors house, ring the door bell and ask them about why they have been doing all this to you. When they begin to reply punch them in the nose. If they don’t fall down, repeatedly punch them in the face until they do. Politely ask them to stop talking about you and picking on you and then leave there premise. Ah thank you. Good day.

Don’t concern yourself with these people. I’m pretty sure everyone in your neighborhood finds them to be annoying, hellish people. Just continue to get to know other neighbors by going to your pool and playing golf. If you have a neighborhood HOA, make them aware of your problems with these people. Let the HOA handle it. If they are only there 4 months out of the year, you have 8 months of pure pleasure and plenty of time to associate with your other neighbors. Don’t let people who are only there for a brief period of time ruin your life in your community.

Do not attempt to talk to your crabby neighbors. I have the exact same problem, but mine swears at the top of his lungs, sun bathes nude, and is just all around noisy and nasty. Talking to them is going to do nothing for you. Plant some fast growing bushes or put up a privacy fence and have a nice quiet, peaceful place in your backyard. That’s what I did and I love it. Don’t worry about what others think, they just need to brew up a little bit of excitement in their lives to be happy. Just keep a positive attitude and that will drive them crazy!

Start introducing yourself to other people in the community. Chances are they probably know this woman is the local gossiper. Once they find out you two actually love each other, they may change their view. Do your introducing when they are out of town.
Also, if you see her in a group of people pointing you out, why not first wave and then go up and say, “Hi so-and-so! How are you doing?” Then introduce yourself to everyone.

Since you live there year round the other neighbors must know you pretty well, and won’t pay any attention to the troublemakers. When they complain about something let them know you aren’t breaking any rules of the community, so if they’re unhappy you’ll understand if they feel they need to move. Ignore them and enjoy the 8 months they aren’t there.
