I’m remodeling my basement I’ve studed and insulated the walls. What kind of drywall is best for the walls?
Question : I’m remodeling my basement I’ve studed and insulated the walls. What kind of drywall is best for the walls?
I used 3 1/2″ fiberglass paper backed insulation. Would water proof drywall be better? The basement walls have no leaks appears dry.

I would use Green Board or Cement boards. You would probaly be better off with cement boards. They are sheets of cement you put up instead of drywall, butif not this….use greenboard. Helps keep away moisture and easy to install.

my suggestion is to seal your basement walls before putting up the drywall, that way you wont have any unkown/unwanted leaks. the stuff is rather expensive around 15 dollars a gallon but works great and would save you some money in the long run. because you dont want water proof drywall up infront of a leaky basement wall. however you dont want wet fiberglass either. so hope that helped.
