Could my 6 y/o’s stomach pains be caused by mold?
Question : Could my 6 y/o’s stomach pains be caused by mold?
We have a lot of mold in our home. My son has always had bad allergies and is currently on three meds that are barely controlling his symptoms. He’s been having severe stomach pain for nearly a year so we’re going to a pediatric GI specialist next month. Could the mold be causing his pain? We can’t move till 02.10 due to our lease so I need to know what my options are.

definitely get out of that house ASAP. The mold could possibly be causing your son’s stomach pain. not sure what else i can say.
That definitely sounds like a possibility. I definitely think it’s a great idea to take him to a GI specialist just to make sure, but mold allergies seem to cause a lot of symptoms. From what I’ve found abdominal pain definitely can occur with prolonged exposure to molds.
Here are some of the other symptoms I’ve found:
Skin rashes
Abdominal pain
Body aches and pains
Hearing loss
Dry cough and sore throat
Memory loss
Headache
Fever
Asthma
Blurred vision
Red and watery eyes
Nose bleeding
Sinus and nasal congestion
Wheezing and other breathing problems
Immune system suppression
Diarrhea
Hair loss
Chronic fatigue
Apparently mold prefers to grow in cold, moist, dark places. Are you living in an appartment building? because then it should most likely be the responsibility of the land lord to get rid of the problem. The last link has some cleaning options to remove the mold. I really hope you figure out the problem and your son gets better soon!!!! Good luck! =)
