i have a pair of SONY MDR-EX35s and i have to say that SONY has made their earbuds BETTER. i remember when most SONY earbuds sucked and i have to say these newer ones they are really nice.
i don’t think i’ll get the 300s yet i’m going to try the Mee Electronics R-1s first.
and i loved the way you shredded that box open.
As far as the fit i think that they have 3 sizes so i’m sure that one of them will work. And i agree that SONY should improve their cables.

I have the old sennhieser x300 ones (not the newer precision II ones) and I just bought these Sony ones after watching this review.
The sony ones sound TERRIBLE!! They are designed to bounce the sound waves through the plastic housing and into your ear. The cx300 ones direct the sound straight into your ear without obstruction or resonance within the earphones themselves.
The result is that the cx300 earphones deliver much clearer sound, whereas the sony ones sound muffled in comparison.

i just bought a pair of cx300′s from amazon earlier today.
got them for around $25 shipped, which is half what i’d pay for the sony’s.
i don’t really plan on using them alot. . .but am going on vacation for a couple weeks and would rather not take my sennheiser cans with me, as they are far to bulky for outside the home lol.
though once you start using real nice sounding headphones, it’s hard to ever go back to cheap ones. . .hopefully the cx300′s will be good enough for my needs. -

Whilst the Seinheiser’s cable is thicker rubber that is indeed easier to untangle, the vibrations travel up more like twanging cabling on a bridge- very annoying over music and worse when the player is off!
I would have like more of a street/gym test on the practicalities of the sony cable length and movement with the breakout cable and the cable tidy.
