Currently, the city of Sarasota has decided to renew an agreement if more than 30 years with Florida Power and Light (FPL). In addition to the FPL franchise agreement, the City of Sarasota is also planning to own and operate a community service, buying our energy needs from another source, or just work without a franchise agreement.
