Am I missing something about the Sean Taylor Death, are the Miami cops idiots?
Question : Am I missing something about the Sean Taylor Death, are the Miami cops idiots?
The Miami Police spokesman stated there is nothing to lead them to believe this was a planned murder but that they believe it was just a random act.
Lets look at some facts.
1) less than 10 days prior someone broke into the same house and left a butcher knife on Sean Taylors bed.
2) His friends and family said and are still saying he lived in fear for his life.
3) His phone lines were cut by the killers prior to entering.
4) Nothing was taken/stolen from his home.
How can any creditable investigator say at this early stage in the investigation and with these facts that this was just some random act? Are the Miami cops idiots or do they just not want to really deal with the situation?

That sounds pretty dumb to me.

Phonebreaker, mate you are on to something about it being “not quite right” wether its the police do not want to tip their hand and let the killer know they are on to him/her/them, if it had been a planned hit, the hitman was not very good! surely at close range should have double tapped him in the head not gone for the leg, either way I think we are going to hear more about this one.

In defense of the Miami cops, maybe they are pulling a Columbo.
If you are young, the detective that acts stupid so the killer underestimates him.
My observation from far away (and probably off base) he was shot in the groin, near the “junk”. His wife did not have her cell phone. (Call me what you will, but a 20 something female who can’t find her cell phone? Right…) -

Well I heard that the police said that the phone lines were not cut. As for the contract killing, I would believe that if the killer had pumped him full of lead. I think someone was just trying to send a message to him, probably didn’t mean to kill him just scare him. Maybe they were trying to get money from him. My questions would be if he was scared for his life,
Why wouldn’t he have had is house alarmed so that if someone broke in they cops would know?
Why didn’t he have dogs?
Why wouldn’t he have had a cell phone in his bedroom?
Why if he had a machete and locked the bedroom door, would you stand far enough away from it that you couldn’t use if someone came through the door? -

I agree to the one degree. The one guy said this wasn’t a “hit” on him, a killer for hire would have shot 6 times in the head or chest. I also agree with the point that it was likely intentional though, that it was to make a point by shooting his leg, but due to a kinda freak accident it ended up killing Taylor. I do think the cops look stupid though claiming it was just a random act and doesn’t look like it was someone after him.

his death is a tragedy, but come on, this crap happens DAILY! enough already! if the police had anything, do you expect them to call you at home and tell you? hell no! sometimes the best way to catch someone is let them think that they got away with it. also, his dad is a cop. do you think he would allow bullshit to happen? let the police do their job and start living your life again. stop believing everything you hear from the newspapers and news media. didn’t they say he had squeezed someone’s hand monday night when other doctors stated he never regained consciousness? there is way too many things not known to jump to conclussions. now if you had first-hand, insider stuff to the contrary, that maybe different.

lol funny, you are right, i thought the same thing when i heard that… it must be that of course the miami cops think there is a link, but they are not tipping their hand, wanting the shooter to think they are not on his tail, they have their scouts on the street asking questions, they will get to the bottom of it soon and bring the gang banger(s) to justice… the miami cops learned this strategy of subterfuge from bill belichick…

all of this is very interesting, but if I planned a murder, I certainly wouldn’t shoot one bullet in the wall and the other in the leg and then leave. And I certainly wouldn’t plan it while his whole family is in the house. It probably was a second attempt to rob him, couldn’t find what they were looking for when he was away, came back while he was home and he didn’t cooperate so the shot him, people don’t shoot to kill in the thigh, normally that injury wouldn’t even impact his football career. So get off of the conspiracy and contract killing crap. Leave it alone and let the cops, family and friends deal with it. They don’t need other people stirring up SHi*

Well I do not know if these are all facts; but I can say this. A friend of mine, her son was murdered. The police were stating all kinds of wrong information to the press because they had some evidence on the killer, however, giving out this information would have made it very difficult to catch this person. That is why they may not be telling all the facts. They might be doing some investigations and want the killer to slip up. Just my best guess.

Beause they finding ways to sweep this under the rug so
the NFL doesnt look bad in the sense that they Draft kids who have a troubled past of say gang violence , arrests ,etcMiami U is already labeled as THUG U .
this will force teams in the NFL to clean up there act and start researching players deeper before they draft them .Everyone knows this was’nt a random act , Sean was trying to grow up and mature and forget his past …just his past was’nt forgettinig about him

I think they are just trying to keep it on the D/L so the killer(s) think they are going to get off.
I find it dumb as well, but you need to think about what the Cops can say about an ongoing investigation.
Everyone in America knows it was a planned murder, considering a week earlier, the burglars left a knife on Sean’s bed.
