My wife has been getting phone calls from Universities,Home warranty Co. & wheelchair distributors?
Question : My wife has been getting phone calls from Universities,Home warranty Co. & wheelchair distributors?
The calls are about every 5 minutes, all day long, from 8am-8pm for the past 3 days and they all say she specifically requested their information.
She has had this number for 10 years and never had to deal with this…..
We thought it was a vendor we recently dealt with, but they assure us that they comply with their privacy policy.
Anyone have an idea of how this happened? Do you think it is a prank of some sort?
Any way to make it stop?
We tell these people to put us on their no call list, but there must be literally hundreds of companies calling now.
Yes, she is on the ‘Do not call’ list, but a couple of them have said that my wife has specifically requested information from them, so it does not apply in this situation.
Most of them seem nice enough, it’s just downright annoying.

I say we are a business – that seems to raise a red flag with them and no one ever calls again.

It does sound like you’ve been the victim of a prank. Continue to tell them not to call, but see if you can find out how they think you’ve done business with them or asked them to call. You may want to invest in Caller ID so you can see the name of whoever’s calling – don’t answer when the number isn’t one you recognize. You can also make sure you’re on the national do-not-call list: http://www.donotcall.gov. I hope it clears up for you, soon.

Thats really lame. Sounds like it may be time for a fresh new phone number? That way the wife can just give it to the people she trusts-as it sounds like someone un-trustworthy got ahold of your number. I mean-her number could have gotten sold by the pizza deliveryman-you just don’t know. Get a new # and register that on the do not call list two and you should be good for another 10 yrs or more!
