Question : What are 30′s-40′s era of songs to play at the retirement center dance?
I am a nurses aid at the local retirement center and there will be a dance for the residents. The residents think I should be the DJ. I downloaded a bunch of 30-40′s music but I do not know what songs to play. I ask the residents but its been so long for them they have a hard time remembering. What are some songs I could play during the dance?

Look for songs by The Andrew Sisters or big band music from Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman. Don’t forget Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra.
That was the Big Band Era. Songs from Tommy Dorsey or Benny Goodman. Another fellow named Glenn Miller.A little Duke Ellington. Throw in some Bing Crosby, and you will have a lively dance.
