From the supplier: The Florida insurance department plans to develop uniform deductible standards for property insurance policies after discovering a wide disparity in the premium credits insurers are offering to consumers. Florida law requires carriers to give credits for storm shutters, houses that comply with strict building codes, and separate wind-damage coverage. In order to win rate increases, insurers will have to show how they pass such benefits to customers.
