American Airlines: The WORST airlines you can take?
Question : American Airlines: The WORST airlines you can take?
I took a 10hr flight into DFW on American Airlines on Tuesday. After arriving there I found out my connecting flight got canceled. I stood in a mile long line for about 3 hours to rebook my flight. The best they could do was put me on a flight on Wednesday. The lady tells me they can’t provide any hotel room because they are all full. I spent the night at the airport without my luggage because they were checked. Wednesday comes and guess what, that flight got canceled again. So, I have to stand in line again to see what is going on. They say the best they can do is put me on another flight that leaves on Thursday?! So, two days later I am still in Dallas booked for a flight that I am unsure will take off.
American Airlines never again will I fly with you. They knew they needed to complete these inspections since 2006! They had plenty of time to get their act together. The FAA and the Airlines are in a cat-fight, and the customers are left stranded hundreds of miles away from home..

i totally agree the MD80 model in praticular is junk they have over 50 of them and there out dated i thing they should look into buying some newer planes because there a national airline!!!
Right now the airlines are being really scrutinized for maintenance because of the whole Southwest Airlines ordeal. I am sure over time things will subside. Just remember what happened after discovering a plot to blow-up 7 aircraft over the Atlantic caused the TSA to ban all liquids. Over time the TSA loosened the no liquid rule and now we can bring up to 3 oz of liquid on board.
Definitely AA messed up and it has caused a lot of bad publicity with many people vowing not to ever fly them again. However I am sure another airline will make some really bad mistake in the future which will cause people to not fly that airline again. I agree the problem should have been fixed properly the first time. They should have known that the FAA is watching all airline maintenance records with a fine tooth comb.
But right now airlines have cut so many flights, they have no place to put passengers if a bunch of flights all of a sudden get canceled. Therefore when they say they will put you on another flight the next day, I would be real skeptical about that. AA operates over 300 MD-80 aircraft. It will take awhile to go through and fix the problems on that many aircraft. Hopefully your next flight won’t be so eventful.
