@CannabisCancerCure Only about half of those in the southern half of the country vote. I have no idea how typical that is for the region, but if that is acquired in recent decades, it is telling of a situation in which half the populace in certain states have given up voting and may begin to look for other options. My, the world we live in…
Did you know Alaskans voted quite Libertarian until they gave up on the party ever having a chance of winning? Just look up the numbers. -

@wolftreetree We should not rule out all war, but we must insist, we must demand non-interventionist, neutral foreign policy that looks out for our own interests and goes not abroad looking for monsters. The economy can only be hurt by war; yes, the military-industrial complex benefits, but there are much more productive things to be doing than having to defend our country from outside threats (though we must sometimes, despite the fact I cannot recall a historical instance of this necessity).

@gnuochtapir Exactly right, the troops are often some of our more upstanding citizens; what has Obama done for our country? Next to nothing, really – I can come up with three options – impeach him (not this year, Democrats would have to look themselves in the mirror), ask him to resign (his ego is too big), or change his mind/beliefs/actions (blind ego). If we elect the right people in November, let the impeachings begin; we need to clean house. Otherwise, he can literally destroy America.

@jcfan42 If I could vote in the next presidential election I would vote for Ron Paul (if he decides to run for office). I don’t agree with all his views but on the economy, wars and freedom he is right on the money. The US would be in infinitely better shape if Paul had been voted into office in 08.

@gnuochtapir I actually did vote for him in the primaries, and as a matter of fact, I agree with him more now than I did then. Some people wrote him in for the general election, but I think many of those votes went uncounted because of some odd rule about having to get signatures even for unlisted candidates, and besides, he was no longer running anway. Unfortunately most Republicans think it wise to go neocon, but we were advised against that long ago by our founders…

@gnuochtapir Some reality show bimbo; if you do not already know, you probably do not need to. If you must know, see the show “Jersey Shore” – I have heard so much complaining about it lately, yet everyone watches it anyway. Quite popular for Cable TV, but I have not seen it (yet).
