Does anybody have a Boston Terrier and can you answer the questions in the “detail” box?
Question : Does anybody have a Boston Terrier and can you answer the questions in the “detail” box?
1. If I were to buy a Boston Terrier in an adult stage and the terrier was introduced to an ‘older’ cat, would the terrier get along with the cat?
2. Can I leave the Boston Terrier home alone, for about 6 hours on the week days?
3. Is a Boston Terrier the type of dog that would sleep on the ground, a dog bed, or on the bed with you?
4. Does a Boston Terrier shed, drool, or bark a lot?
5. How long should I take a Boston Terrier on a walk for?
6. If you have any more details you would like to add to a new dog owner, could you please add them?
Thanks!

The Boston Terrier is an ideal-sized housedog. While they can be lively they are small enough not to be a serious problem and most prefer to live inside more or less permanently. They may bark at strangers and are said to be a good watch dog. Their prime use nowadays is as a companion dog.
While quite active, Boston Terriers suit a house or flat situation and require little formal exercise. Most will enjoy a regular run in the backyard.
The short coat requires minimal attention. A weekly wipe over with a brush will remove loose hairs. They can be bathed as required.
i have owned three bostons, they are a great dog, however, they are very hyper. they are loveable but they do jump, lick and when on your lap they seem to just bounce around. this is my experience, maybe not the next one would do this. yes, mine was home alone while i worked and was fine. if not potty broke, maybe put in a room they cannot ruin a rug if an accident. as far as the introduction to the cat, i think the dog would be ok, if it knew or was around other cats before. may take a little while to get to know the cat. a boston does not shed, or drool and mine only barked if they heard someone come in the door. good watch dog. as far as sleeping on the ground no dog wants to sleep on the ground, mine preferred to sleep on the bed, or on blankets in their own little space i had for them in another room.if you have the time, i think a dog any kind would like to walk everyday perhaps for half hr or more, not in the icey cold though and ice is bad for their feet, if it is bad out.i only got my bostons new homes as my hubby was alergic to most dogs and cats or i would still have them. and also they are a very smart breed. hope i helped some with your curiosty. bye now have a wonderful new yr. and good luck.
