Diving Pensacola, Perdido Key, Florida, May 18 2010 – Still no oil here!

On May 18,2010, MBT Divers of Pensacola Florida sent a group of divers out on an ROV recovery mission. The dive site was 34 miles offshore in an area known locally as “the edge”, with a maximum dive depth of 215′. Throughout the day, no signs of oil were found in any form, and the reefs all looked healthy and happy.

im sorry, that reef did NOT look healthy… looked like detritus was choking out large sections of the reef. oil doesnt have to be visible to be killing coral and sensitive fish; enough with the propaganda already.

@NoathanOthing That reef was natural limestone at 215′. Reefs look much different at that depth. The water temp was around 65 degrees at depth. It is not like the reefs you would find in 20′ in the tropical waters further south of here. There were no signs of oil or any dead or dying reef.
