Question : Which is best Hotel Management Software to Resell, for upto 150 room hotel / motel with reservation module?
Hello,

I am a computer hardware vendor with few hotel clients. Many of my clients are in need of some hotel software and often ask me to find one. Its a tedious process to research any software and install in the hotels, but in order to entertain my clients I have to do that.

So I am looking for a hotel software which is good and easy to use. Besides that it might be better if I can get some commisions on reselling the software, so that my efforts gets paid off.

Does any one has any idea about which is the best software for small and medium sized properties with a budget of 500-2000$ .

Please let me know your views. It can save me a lot of hours of research and may be some expert advice can help me make better choice.

Thanks

If you are thinking to make this a business, then surely you need to research a bit as every hotel has different taste and no one size fits all.

I am a hotel owner(made forcefully) from an IT Background. My parents had been running the hotel without any software since years. But when I joined it was like they where wasting lots of time and resources by doing a manual work.

So after understanding the hotel basics the first thing I did was to get a hotel software.

I downloaded around 12 different hotel related software. I found that most of them were quite similar in nature, everybody does the check-in, reservation and reports. If you understand 2-3 software, you will understand the others quite easily.

I short listed around 5 software of all which I felt quite suitable for my 78 rooms hotel.

As far as I remember now, they were innquest, ezee, check-in, guest tracker and 1 more I don’t recall now. I sent few questions to all these companies. of that, ezee and guest tracker replied to me in less then 24 hours. Innquest bit later but check-inn was very late. Support was equally important for me with a good product. You should also do the same. Send mails and see the quality of support.

The product which I finally liked was ezee frontdesk after studying further all these 5 software, because it was very easy to use, so if I have a desk clark change over the new one can learn it in just days. It had all the required features which I could think of.

But guess what. When I was finally negotiating, I came to know that this company was India based. I was quite surprised and confused. I knew that India had a great IT Poll but never heard any Indian company making software products. But after studying and talking more finally I decided to go for it because the software price was very very low compared to others and the features and the ease of use was very appealing.

Then many of my near by hotels of which some are my friends started enquiring about my software and wanted to go for what ever I suggested. So I thought why not become a reseller of this company and make some extra bucks rather then giving free consultancy. As such I was an IT guy this was more like a hobby.

So I signed up with eZee guys and became their reseller. I did few installations in near by hotels which were obvious sales and got some reasonable commissions from the sales. I even charged few hotels for training and installations.

But then I got some good number of leads from the company on a regular basis. I was delighted when I sold to people referred by the that Indian company itself.

But then in one occasion I was competing this software with the industries biggest name Fidelio. I was almost to win the client, but then the management decide to go with Fidelio as they wanted the best brand.

The only problem I had with this software was that the price of it was quite low (may be because they operate from India) So thus my commissions were quite low. People were easily ready to spend lot more.

After an year or so, the company offered me option for my own private label software in which there was no name of ezee frontdesk, it was my company name in the software. Now I could charge what every price I felt like and infect started keeping some efforts from my side to sell this software as the mark up was quite good now.

So if you are looking to become the reseller for any software the most important things you should be look for are 1. Support 2. ease of use 3. companies commitment and respect to their resellers.

Hope that helps

Good luck and contact me if you have any more questions or about my own hotel software….. ;)
