how do i tell if i actually have black mold?

Question : how do i tell if i actually have black mold?
i think i have black mold in the wall behind my shower it looks black at the bottom of the wall. How can i tell if it really is black mold? is there a tester i can buy for it? everybody in my house has been getting sick migraines etc. really need help

black mold thats what you got
i follow plumbers all day long
put a sheet of plastic over it and tape it up
call a mold company

Larry, migraines are normally the first sign of toxic mold exposure along with respiratory distress. Its a sign that the spores you inhale are getting to your brain. Sorry to tell you this but you need professionals to get in immediately and take care of it. The toxic spores will be all over your home so consider this as well. Good luck

I use straight bleach and have killed off small areas of black mold. If its large you need help. But bleach it over and over let dry in between. Don’t rub it with dry rag or you breath the dust. If its in bathroom where water is all the time you may need professional removers.

Don’t waste money on testing.

Since the susceptibility of individuals can vary greatly either because of the amount or type of mold, sampling and culturing are not reliable in determining your health risk. If you are susceptible to mold and mold is seen or smelled, there is a potential health risk; therefore, no matter what type of mold is present, you should arrange for its removal. Furthermore, reliable sampling for mold can be expensive, and standards for judging what is and what is not an acceptable or tolerable quantity of mold have not been established.
Clean it up and locate the source of moisture.
