If your packers don’t care about what they are doing, get on the phone with the company and demand different ones.

If you are not an experienced packer and are unwilling to get enough moving blankets, bubble wrap, stretch rap and a big enough truch not to have to overstuff it, then a mover is a better choice than beating your stuff up yourself and being unable to claim to someone for the damage.
