Review by Bryce Verdier for Moving to the Linux Business Desktop
Rating:
I thought it did an excellent job of welcoming the novice linux user to the linux environment, and also gave them enough information to grow with. In the bindings you go from the KDE user interface and getting started with OpenOffice, to setting up an NFS server and reading on tools to help someone configure the firewall ( not nessacaryly in that order).
Marcel does a great job of being easy to read, while still managing to be technical. I guess that has something to do with his monthly column in Linux Journal.
All in all i would recommend this book to someone who is curious about using Linux. It does a good job of hand holding, while spreading wide enough to appease anyone’s curiosity about how to accomplish something in linux( one a basic scale), and all that time is easy to read.
