When is the best time to build in Colorado?
Question : When is the best time to build in Colorado?
If you are a builder and you want to build a home for yourself, what month is ideal to start building given that you have about 6 months to finish? I live in the Denver area and would like to start building soon (like in October), but my husband argued that it’s not a good idea to build in the middle of winter. He thinks that the wood and foundation wouldn’t cure right when it’s cold? I just hate having to wait until spring to start anything. Professional builders out there, would you please give us your opinion? Thanks!

theres really no worry about the concrete curing your not building a bridge or a dam
winter the worker prices will probly be higher (most likely)
im not sure what elevation your at but if your low compared to the rest of colorado and your ground stays muddy in the winter you may want to wait till spring but if not you may wont to go with winter simply because you dont wont to wait
but i do agree with your dad to poor in the spring due to extreme tempuratures
also in the winter concrete will shrink so in the summer it may exspand and cause foundation problems but usualy a good construction crew will spot that way before they even start
