Question : what is the going rate on moving companies loading and moving your furniture?
changing residence. Cannot lift heavy furniture (TV, sofa,etc. Will need moving company to load furniture into truck, drive to new place approximately 15 miles away and unload into new place.

No matter how far you are moving they charge by the hour and your driveway space and number of stairs. If you are having them pack for you that will be a charge. We have done both professional movers to different states and local movers. A local move is easier and much cheaper as they will charge you by the hour but you need everything properly packed and ready to go. Locals will still charge you for access so you have to ask if they do. We just did a very small distance move of around 16 miles with a great local company that did not charge extra for stairs and long driveways for well under $ 1000 for a huge home of furniture but our previous interstate moves were always around $ 10,000. So do your homework and call around. Your move is a short distance. You should be able to work out a deal.
For a local move you can get an hourly rate … usually like 3 guys and a truck for like $ 90 an hour. It should include everything: stairs, carry packing services … the only thing that’s extra is packing materials, like boxes and bubble wrap.
There are some movers that will offer you a flat rate as well, it’s just what it sounds like. You tell them what you have and where you go and they will just tell you flat how much is it. Pretty good, but always a little bit more than hourly rate.
Try to avoid companies that charge you per square foot and read order for service very carefully. If you see any additional charges, just send them back and find another company.
