How much are local movers in Georgia?
Question : How much are local movers in Georgia?
We are moving SOME stuff from a house to an apartment…about half the (two car) garage full plus some furniture in the room above a garage to a 2br apartment 10 miles away. How much do local movers charge? It’s in Marietta (a suburb north of Atlanta) if that makes any difference.

Peachtree moving company is pretty fair.
You pay by weight in most cases when hiring a moving company.
Based on your information provided, and this is just a rough guess, it would cost you right around $ 350-400. Again, just a guess without knowing how heavy you belongings are.
Hope this helps.
Any time I’ve moved, I’ve called a few companies to get quotes. When I moved from NY to Atlanta, price was based on poundage. Across town, it’s frequently based on time. Any reputable company you call, should be able to estimate the charge.
It doesn’t seem like you have all that much. You have to decide if you want a registered and insured company (which will be more expensive and professional) or a couple of guys with a truck that advertise with a classified in the paper. I’ve always gone by gut instinct when I’ve spoken with movers — and have never been burned.
Good luck.
