From the supplier: Approximately mil in taxes on property and casualty insurance premiums were collected in Alabama in 1996. However, a state circuit court judge has found the premium taxes burdened smaller property and casualty carriers and favored larger ones. The premium law was declared unconstitutional for the time being, so Alabama cannot collect premium taxes for the foreseeable future.
