Long and Foster- $ 700 Startup, 50/50 commission split, 6% marketing fee per commission, flexible commission schedules, direct deposit available, there is floor time , there are no desk fees, intranet (not sure if it will work on my computer), free agent website and email, free signs ($ 49 value each), company pays half of your marketing, in business 40 years

Question : Any advice on building a new home in the Tampa area?
We are planning to build a new home around the Tampa, FL area sometime next spring. (Right now we are living in Pittsburgh, PA.)
We want to buy something less than $ 500k with a pool, 4-6 bedrooms, 3500+ square feet, and a fair plot of land.
Can you get a decent home around $ 400k?
(I have heard that Tampa is quite expensive for new homes.)
I have checked into some homebuilders in FL and requested some info, but photos only do so much.
If anyone has any experience with any builders down there it would be appreciated.
That way we fly down to get more info we won’t waste any unnecessary time.

MY ADVICE IS DONT MOVE TO TAMPA! I JUST MOVED FROM HELL , OH THERE, 9 MONTHS OF 90* AND HORRIBLE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS EVERDAY, GETTING SCARED THE 7 TIMES A YEAR A HURRICANE COMES TO CLOSE. NOT TO MENTION RUDE NEIGHBORS! TRY LOOKING AT ATLANTA AWESOME CITY , WE MOVED 1 HOUR NORTH ATLANTA TO WHERE THE MTNS BEGIN, ALL 4 SEASONS ARE VERY MILD WITH THE SUMMER BEING CONFINED TO SUMMER! We used Chase Bank. The were not much more than that to refi and we got a free Premium Checking account complete with safety deposit box. It was a good deal for us.

As a side note, I haven’t heard anything negative about Ditech or Lending Tree.
