Do we allow companies to discriminate between men and women when they hire based on whatever statistics the company management may have about who makes better employees (comes to work more often, etc)?

Question : Is a home warranty worth it?
I just passed the one year mark in my new house, as well as the warranty. I have been debating renewing the warranty, but I am on the fence.

My house is around 22 years old, has a lot of new equipment (fridge, dishwasher, washer, dryer, furnace) with only a really old air conditioner and water heater possibly going to cause problems.

The warranty to renew is around 600 dollars, with a 90 dollar service fee charged per visit. I did call them twice this year, one time it wasn’t covered (waist of money), second time it took 3 visits to fix a small thing.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? If I knew that they would cover any problem that occurred I wouldn’t hesitate, but after reading consumer reports on the company I am really hesitant.

Are you a “handy” person? If not then I would, but if you are I wouldn’t.
As a new older home owner myself, I am not renewing mine when it expires. It is so much easier to make the repairs or purchases on my own. (My home is 23 years old…with no problems found yet!).
