How do you find a reputable and affordable moving company if you’re moving across states?
I am moving from Southeast Pennsylvania to Southwest Wisconsin, and I want to hire a moving company. The last long distance moving company I used was horrible. I want to get enough information to make a better choice this time.

Try http://www.graebel.com. They moved me from Northern VA to Hawaii. Very reliable and fast.

Invest the time in doing as much research as possible. Many people have been taken advantage of…..charged too much money….contents arriving late……..stuff missing or damaged. Don’t take a quote over the phone, have a representative from the moving company come to your house to measure and take inventory, then come to an agreement. Many times this representative is just a sales person who is paid a commission on what they sell you and won’t have anything to do with the move. Get at least 3 to 5 references and follow through by calling them.
