Pine green is definitely popular, as is tan and gold.

As for cupboards &amp; countertops, I always say that when I redo my kitchen I&#039;m going to get counters the color of coffee so that it&#039;s not so obvious when I drip. 		<description>If you plan on selling in next 5 years or think that is a possibility I would easier colors and leave the accents to brighten it up.  Red might be hard to repaint.

 I would go for more contrasts like with bright white pillows etc.  Maybe Yellows or light pinks. I like black with red but that isn&#039;t exactly log cabin look. LOL
