Captiva Island is nice but expensive. You also have to pay everytime you drive off the island (at least it used to be you only paid going off – that’s because there’s only one way on!) Wouldn’t be that much of a drive from Virginia (it’s on the Gulf side). Very pretty, expensive but nice.
