man…good ‘o days. I miss Japan so much. I was stationed there for about 4 years. Even crossed deck from Indy to Kitty. ilove the archapelago. I miss Yokohama, Tokyo, Roppongi, Ginza, Kamakura, Atsugi, Sugiragicho, Mt. Fuji. I do remember this park too. I used to unwind in this park to escape stress. I wonder if they still have that musical fountain.

Yes, this video does show some sights that I remember when I was stationed in Yokosuka from 86′ to 91′. I too miss those places and times. It’s amazing how much it’s changed since. I return on vacation to Japan every so often and Yoko has changed alot mostly around the base. The Photo of the original A-Club is very intersting because of what that area looks like now, with the mall on the other side of the street and all. Thanks for posting this up.

Hated this place, was there from 2003-2005, it has change a lot. Still like the video and japan is awesome. Good job.

Man, I hated the place too when I first got there. By the time I left, It was like I was leaving home forever. Yeah the place has REALLY changed. I’ll be back there in a few months too and I can’t wait.

Oh..still without visa. Just anther two weeks to visit my gf there. Darn visa is hard to get, still looking for that job also. So guess i have to give it some time before I got bloody piece of paper that will keep there longer that 3 months max. No visa for you yet? Thought not very difficult if you are an american soldier. Hahaha, we have to grab a beer there!

The song is called “TAO” by Sojiro. He plays traditional Japanese Wind instruments. I haven’t been able to find any of his stuff in the States. Thank you and I’m glad you enjoyed it.

O.o I live in Yokosuka now, I didn’t like it at first because it’s different then america XD But now I like it here and I like my school, Japan is nice Has anyone ever been to Monkey Island there? I enjoyed this vid

I was there as a child in 1965 when my Dad was stationed there. I lived right outside the gate across from the railroad track. Is it still there?
I love the music and photos.

brings back memories, I lived in yokosuka and travelled to other hidden areas I couldn’t begin to name, it took me about 6 mnths to fall in love with the country and it’s beauty and after 2 years it was hard for me to leave. Uss Indy cv-62 sailor. great video man

Wow! Thank you for this. I grew up in Yokosuka and lived not more than a few minutes away from the Mikasa. It was great to see it again! It brought back alot of memories!

Brings back memories! I was a Marine MP there from August 1978 to March 1980 I enjoyed it so much! How about the real life Will Adams, written about in Shogun? The little park on top of Yokosuka is a memorial to him. Looking forward to more of your efforts!

Wow! This brings back so many good memories. I loved living in Yokosuka and in Nishi-Uraga. Didn’t want to leave. I worked on the Tugboats and then moved up to the hill and worked for the captain of the base. It was so much fun!
