HDMI to DVI Cable and HDMI Cable Comparison
Customers ask what kind of quality they should expect when using a single link DVI cable to hook up to an HDTV. I decided to try it out for myself to get a real world answer on the difference. I was unable to tell a difference between an HDMI to DVI cable and a standard HDMI cable. Hooking my laptop up to my TV I was still able to watch movies in 1080p.

ive been doing this sorta comparison on my vaio AR laptop. dus ur laptop have a nvidia card?
also wen you use the dvi connector does ur laptop make a little more noise like fan being bit more audible?
i usse a dvi cable with a hdmi=dvi connector running thru my laptop to my hp lcd. wen i use vga the quality is exactly the same but its dead quiet.
