Have democrats all of a sudden lost their voice about the spending because their guy is in power now?
Obama ran on a platform of change and earmark reform. We all heard how insulting they were to people who protested at the tea parties. Have democrats lost their voice about spending now that their guy is in power?
Bobby I have been complaining about it since it started.

cjg writes:”Where were all the Conservatives when Bush was spending as much as he was?”
Complaining just as much as we do under Obama.
“Now we have a President that’s investing in America and that’s seen as a bad thing?!”
Nice spin, but the government doesnt “invest”. It “spends”. Just because Obama labels his spending as “investing” doesnt make it so.
“The cat’s out the bag. Cons can’t complain about all the spending now if so much was done under Bush”
Actually we can.

The tea parties were hypocrisy in it’s purest form that’s why they were criticized when the issue of spending come about. Where were all the Conservatives when Bush was spending as much as he was?
Now we have a President that’s investing in America and that’s seen as a bad thing?!
The cat’s out the bag. Cons can’t complain about all the spending now if so much was done under Bush especially when the left wing was looked upon as “loony” for protesting Bush’s spending for the war.
Bush asked you to be patient for war but you can’t be patient for America? -

Insulting to people who protested at tea parties? How about insulting to the millions around the world who protested a war lied into by the previous administration? How about the debacle of the unregulated banking and investment industry that has broken the economy of the country?
We recognize necessary spending, which is a plan to rescue the American worker and the American economy. Didn’t hear any Republican protests when billions a day were committed to the Iraq War by George.
The tea parties were a venting and ranting spectacle-a good laugh was had by many. Lots of props and contradictory signs showing the dangers of unorganized protest.
I gather you don’t like “our guy”, I really don’t care and I suspect there are millions who also don’t care! -

if you had any legitimate issues we’d talk but it’s just a hate fest. You want lower taxes, you got lower taxes. I would rather they be spending money on health care, education and services to benefit us rather than war to hurt others. i never heard obama or anyone in the administration insult you. I heard claims that because he didn’t resign and give you everything you want that you took this as an insult. That’s your problem.

Have republicans FOUND their voice about spending because their guy is NOT in power?
Democrats really only complained about WHAT Bush was spending on…. if you’re spending on an unjust war then rebuilding that country… giving contracts to Halliburton and giving cell phones to Iraqis…. THAT is where we had a problem.
Giving tax cuts that only help the wealthiest… while the economy was faltering….. THAT is where we had a problem.

Spending, per se, isn’t the problem. It was a change in priorities. My problem with the current “stimulus” is that it doesn’t go nearly as far enough.
“We all heard how insulting they were to people who protested at the tea parties.”
It may be because the tea party organizers, themselves, had difficulty in defining their message.
Was it to protest taxes?
If so, the vast majority of them would not have seen any increases and likely would get a tax cut, instead.
Was it to protest spending?
If so, they are being disingenuous and hypocritical. These same folks crying “socialism” had no problem with the government borrowing trilliions for perpetuating war on foreign soil which provided no real benefit for the nation, other than a false sense of security from “heathens.”
Of course, those of us who paid attention in history class know what happened the last time an incoming adminstration (Hoover 1929) tried to be “fiscally responsible” in a time of economic crisis.
